TeleCheck handles huge quantities of
data every day. The people who manage the systems and sub-systems
need detailed documentation to know what to do when things go wrong.
I was hired to help Developers document TeleCheck's Electronic
Checking System (currently used by Wal-Mart and other retailers).
This project was particularly difficult because the application
was in production, being used every day, but it was still being
run by the developers who were still tweaking it on a daily basis.
The Project Manager at TeleCheck was terrified that "if someone
got hit by a bus, we wouldn't have any idea how to run this thing."
To that end, I created an online help system that automated data
entry and organization for the developers. I also interviewed them,
provided high-level data flowcharts, and helped complete the documentation
process.
Afterwards, Telecheck required that I document the online documentation
system itself. This manual is the documentation for that system.

User Manual for
Online Help System
I created the document in Word 2000. Screenshots were created with "Print
Screen" and then edited in Photoshop 6.0. There is also
an Administration manual -- it is not presented here, but
is available in person.
I had only 12 hours to produce both manuals and the artwork.
Since I had created the system, I was intimately familiar
with it and was able to meet that deadline.
