Project Scope: Create a Website that
generates a strong sense of urgency in municipal, state, federal,
and commercial personnel who are responsible for emergency preparedness.
Emergency Warning is owned by the same company that owns Premier
Messaging -- the owner wanted a site that
Responsibilities:
Created and deployed entire site based on graphics created for print
brochure, business cards, and letterhead.
Design Philosophy/Notes: Wanted a strong,
focused home page that provided more information (and powerful graphics)
by rolling over buttons/topics to the left. Interior pages provided
additional information. We wanted a VERY shallow site that did not
require a lot of clicking or scrolling. One of the few times I felt
that a fixed-width design was justified (didn't use Flash because
the audience might have older machines without the plug-in).
Tools/Technologies: Photoshop, Freehand,
Dreamweaver UltraDev 4, HTML, CSS, PHP
Deployment: PHP on Apache Server running
on Red Hat Linux
Date: March 2002
